| Basement / Foundation Waterproofing

Air Xray can help prevent water from entering your foundation by using a combination of techniques and materials to create a waterproof barrier for your home. Foundations are often prone to water intrusions and flooding which can cause damage to the foundation, walls, floors, personal belongings, and air quality.

It's not just basements that are affected by water intrusion. A Foundation is a term that describes the basic building blocks that stabilize your home and keeps it standing. You can have waterproofing issues in the following areas:

Basements | Cellars | Crawlspaces | Slabs

There are various techniques that can be used for foundation waterproofing, including exterior waterproofing, interior waterproofing, and drainage solutions.

FOUNDATION

Waterproofing & Drainage

Our complete foundation waterproofing & drainage solution involves a mix of interior & exterior waterproofing as well as crack repair, sump pump installation, and foundation ventilation.

1 | Ventilation
2 | Sump Pump
3 | Exterior Drainage
4 | Interior Drainage

1 | Ventilation

Foundation ventilation involves the process of exchanging indoor air with outdoor air to improve the air quality and reduce the moisture levels in the basement. When a basement lacks proper ventilation, it can lead to a variety of issues such as mold growth, musty odors, increased humidity levels, and other airborne contaminants.

Air Xray will install only the best and most reliable systems to make sure your home is always monitored. You can control your ventilation system from the controller or on the provided phone app.

2 | Sump Pump

A sump pump is a device that is typically installed in a basement or crawlspace to remove excess water that may accumulate during heavy rainstorms or when there is a high water table. It is a good idea to have a sump pump in your basement because it can help prevent flooding, water damage, and the growth of mold and mildew.

Our complete foundation waterproofing system integrates directly with the sump pump and has a smart backup system that will alarm you of issues with your pump system. Having this smart backup system gives you peace of mind that even if you aren't home - you will know what's going on.

The sump pump is the collection point for all the water that was collected by the interior drainage system that was installed underneath the concrete floor. Once water is collected, the sump pump evacuates the water by pumping it out of the foundation safely.

3 | Exterior Drainage

Once the foundation has been repaired, a waterproof coating or membrane is applied to the exterior walls of the basement (that's the black lining next to the wall that you see in the image). This coating acts as a barrier to prevent water from penetrating the foundation.

We then install drains around the perimeter of the home to capture and redirect water away from the home.

4 | Interior Drainage

These are drains that are around the inside perimeter of the home underneath the concrete floor. Not every foundation requires drainage to be installed under the floor, but if it does, we install high quality drain systems underneath your concrete foundation. We also take great care to re-apply concrete to make your foundation complete.
